Jakarta is long been synonymous with its street food. So, don’t be surprise when there are myriad of street food vendors selling delicious and diverse dishes on Car Free Day. From local Indonesian favorite like Pecel, Nasi Gudeg to warm Dim sum served in wooden crates - there are plenty of culinary to choose from!
With variant and diverse culinary to choose from, runners can opt for the famous Kerak Telor (Betawian traditional spicy omelette dish), Nasi Gurih Aceh (Acehnese steamed rice diffused with coconut milk) or even the popular Sundanese Kue Surabi (delicious pancake but served with spicy oncom on top, known locally in Bandung).
Running community
Running is one of the easiest exercises that everyone can do. When you lack the motivation from living a hectic lifestyle, sometimes you need a friend’s support. Or in this case, joining a running community.
With the growing numbers of running communities in the country, it’s easy to pick one that you like best. Founded in 2009, Indo Runners is said to be the biggest running community that offers two programs: 'Thursday Night Run' starts at 8pm and 'Sunday Morning Run' starts at 7am. Meanwhile, Rush Runner is one of the youngest communities in town where they run on Thursday at 6.30pm and Sunday at 6am.
